“Small steps lead to big results.”
— Pastor Craig Groeschel, Life.Church
Discipline can be considered as a 4-letter curse word when it comes to finances. The more we have, the more we spend OR the less we have the less we spend = FALSE! I believe it is mainly HOW you discipline with whatever you have can either work FOR you or AGAINST you.
Daily discipline over time is the bridge to financial success. Here are a few tips I have learned to help develop my daily spending habits:
- Find a mentor or financial advisor who can help you with a step by step process to build your financial path. Click here for a great resource.
- Educate yourself and get familiar with where your money is going. Could there be some inflating fees, loopholes, or unnecessary charges. Gather your bank statements, bills, and any other debts to see where you can cut the cord.
- Begin to write out your budget and start the elimination process. Click here for a sample budget template.
- Needs vs Wants
- Goals vs. Gifts
- Future investments vs. present pleasures
Remember money is currency and currency is a flow…. it can be done! Developing discipline is designed to create not cut and IT STARTS WITH YOU!
Great insight and topic, I love the notes of the needs, goals and future investment, the importance.
